Kurban Bayrami in Japan

Today is one of the two Islamic Holidays. It is called in turkish "Kurban Bayrami." It has roots of our Prophet Hz. Abraham (A.S.). He was ordered sacrifice his son. As he was really doing sacrificing Allah(CC) sent him a sheep instead. So every year all moslems which can handle must sacrifice a sheep (can be cow or camel or goat instead). It is also the time when moslems must do their Pilgrimage to Mecca at least one time in life (only who are elligible means rich enough and no other responsibilities).

I wish for all of you Happy Kurban.

More info:

2006 yili acilarimizla, sevinclerimizle geride kalacak.
2007 daha fazla umut, daha fazla sevinc, daha fazla mutluluk getirsin. Yasaminizda güzel yillar, mutlu yarinlar, gercek dostluklar hep sizinle olsun. Yeni yiliniz size ve tüm sevdiklerinize saglik, mutluluk, nese, basari, bolca para, sevgi ve huzur getirmesini dileriz.
Mutlu Yillar!

Krispy Kreme in Japan

Friday, December 15. 2006, at 10 am, Japan will have it's first Krispy Kreme.

The store is in Shinjuku.

When, I was living in Seattle, the Krispy Kreme opened it's first stores in that area couple years ago. I waited on the line for at least 2 hours under rain to go to the store in the first day. (crazy...)

But what should I do. I really love their original glazed. I heard it will be around 120 150 yen, which is little bit expensive to compare american prices but here is Japan.

Anyway, I am lloking forward to eat again Donuts from Krispy Kreme. I will be there Friday at 10 am.

Today, I installed the new version of Firefox which the version is 2.0.

I recommend everybody to use or update to this version because first of all it is much more safer then earlier versions.

More importantly if you use still the old internet explorer 6.0 then it is a must update if you feel that your browser takes ages to open websites. In this case means that your browser and system is full of spywares and other dangerous programs, which makes your computer slow.

So, get soon and get comfortable. in your language

Hiragana I

Today I seriously started learning japanese.

As first I started learning Hiragana. I used to learn the "HIRAGANA and KATAKANA Works Sheets" form the Meguro Language Center.

Todays goal was for me to learn the first 10 characters in Hiragana, which was "a,i,u,e,o and ka,ki,ku,ke,ko". This is the second page of the book.

They are:

あ い う え お and か き く け こ

It looks so easy but I have still difficulties to remember them.

In the end there was a quiz to see if you learnt all those.

aka (red) __________ あか_________
ao (blue) ___________あお_________
aki(autumn) ________あき_________
ika (squid) _________いか_________
kao (face)__________かお_________
ike (pond)__________いけ_________
koe (voice)_________こえ__________
ie (house)__________いえ_________
kaki (persimmon)____かき__________
ookii (big)__________おおきい______
ue (on top) _________うえ__________

My problem is that after I learn the first five characters I cannot anymore remember the sixth one. I guess I have too small shorttime memory.

Anyway, I am very determined to learn as soon as possible Japanese.

Rainy Season flower

In Japan now is rainy season and special in this season there is those flowers which only blossom on this time.

Those flower can be found everywhere but especially in big gardens such as this picture from a Buddhist Temple in Kamakura. People makes lines and wait at least 2 hours to be able see this garden with this wonderfull flowers.

But it was really worth to wait that long. That garden was really beautifull and I enjoyed every inch of it.

Moreover it had this wonderfull view on the sea with houses between them.

If you ever would wanted visit some nice and recrational place close to Tokyo this is the place.

Shinning Star☆☆: お父さん。 My Dad

Shinning Star☆☆: お父さん。 My Dad

I have similar story. Since 1999 I was most of the time away from my father and mother. Because of them I had possibility to study abroad.

Everytime, I visit back home, I try to be all the time with them.

I realized that the best time for them is when their children is with them.

Even, I am now not with my parents, I am calling everyday. It makes so happy to get a call from me. It makes me also happy.

Nowadays, everybody running after luck. However, they forget the luck and happiness was always with them, by their parents and family.

It is important that you take care your family. It is not difficult to make our parents happy. It is most of the time to call. It is so nice to get a call from your children.

Mayu you are really doing great job, that you spend time with your father. Later on it will be difficult to find quality time with your father.

Also, later on when we have own children we want have children, who take cares us and likes to have time with us.
